Company email (April 2018)
"We did in fact use a small amount of Lactose sugar in the salty caramel truffle beer."

Dan notes (November 2017) that the Double Chocolate Cranberry Stout is now called Winter Beard and is made with Belgian milk chocolate.

Company email, November 2011:

"To answer your question all of our beers are 100% vegan. We only use 4 all natural ingredients in our beers: 95% Muskoka Water, Malts, Hops & Yeast. Our beer is first filtered with diatomaceous earth – which is a form of ancient algae. Our beer is manufactured here, and is all natural. All of our ingredients are sourced within North America.

The only beer that uses more than the 4 ingredients listed is the seasonal Double Chocolate Cranberry Stout. In this we use local cranberries, and cocoa-nibs.

We pride ourselves in using all natural local ingredients!"

Company Email:
"All the Muskoka Ales and Lagers are brewed with all malt, all natural ingredients. Most of them are 100% free of animal ingredients, except the Muskoka Honey Lager which contains pure Canadian honey supplied by Billy Bee.
Whirlfloc Tablets is made by carrageenan, a seaweed gum, works as kettle fining. During the main filtration, several filter aids will be applied they are different size of diatomaceous earth (DE) and Becosorb; all made by minerals.
You may like to check the manufactures for more detail regarding those filter aids http://www.epminerals.com/ and http://www.begerow.com/en/fb/applications/beer.html"
