Company email (April 2016):
"At Turtle Run Winery, we only sell wines that we produce on site, so you will never see on our labels "Vinted and Bottled" or "Cellared and Bottled", only "Produced and Bottled". I somewhat dislike it when wineries don't disclose that they didn't make some of their own wines.

"We are vegan friendly. We never use animal products in any of our wines. I am keenly aware about the reasons for using milk, eggs, isinglass, egg whites, etc in making wines, but our proprietary processes of exclusively using our own spent yeast cells is our trick. I doubt this one is being used anymore, but in France in the 1800's it was common to collect cow's blood at slaughter and use the blood as a fining agent. How about that? Heck, we don't even use bentonite clay either. We don't even make any meads, so no honey wines, and we never back add sugars or juices to sweeten our wines either."

Company email (February 2014):
"I know all about fining agents, but no, we don't have any wines on our list that have used fining agents, so no animal products have been used to process any of our wines... No honey either. And we don't add sugar to back sweeten our wines, or juice either. We are purely an arrested fermentation winery to make sweet wines. Another value add. We make all of our wines here. We have no other production facility, and all of our wines are produced and bottled right here.
