Company email (July 2020) re Thunderpeel

"I have great news, my Vegan friend. You're totally in the clear with Thunderpeel. So feel free to drink it all without sharing, and feel good while you do it."

Company email (April 2017)
"None of our year round beers use non-vegan materials with the exception of Pearl Necklace which uses oyster shells. Some one-off beers may also contain non-vegan ingredients, for example: Honey Paloma."

Company email (August 2016) re: The Gourd Standard Pumpkin IPA
"We only use the flesh of pumpkin so you are all set"

Company email (January 2015):
"We strive to avoid the use of animal products in our beers, however there are a few worth mentioning that do include animal products.
Seasonally we may brew beers with local honey (usually in the fall). This information is always noted on the website by clicking either on the bottle of beer, or the name of the beer in question, which will show the ingredients in that specific beer. Currently that beer would be a limited release Black Honey IPA, which may still be in some markets. There are no current plans to brew a beer with honey in the near future.
We brew one year round beer with oysters, our Pearl Necklace Oyster Stout.
The batches of beer do not come into contact with each other, so there should be no concern of the introduction of a beer with animal based products into a vegan friendly beer.
We also do not use any animal based products during filtration, or any other part of the process.
We do not produce or package beer at any other facility."

Company email (May 2014):
"Thanks for reaching out about Dead Rise. At Flying Dog we strive to avoid animal ingredients in our products. All of our beers are vegan friendly with the exception of our Oyster Stout and a few seasonal/special releases which sometimes include honey (always stated on the label). Dead Rise does not contain any animal ingredients, and there are no animal ingredients used in processing Dead Rise or any of our other beers. We brew and package all of the beer at this location."

Company email (May 2012):
"Thank you very much for writing us to learn more about our beer and for your effort in updating the online directory. Only two of our beers use animal ingredients in the brewing process: Secret Stash has honey and Pearl Necklace has oysters. None of our filter aids are from animals and all of our beers are brewed in Frederick, MD."

Company email, August 2011:

"Flying Dog beers are vegan, however we do have one beer in the local market that is brewed with honey. This beer is called Table for Two and the honey is included on the label as is required by law. We do not use isinglass or gelatin or any other animal derived ingredients in our beers."

Note from Cody:
"Wild Goose brewery (WildGooseBrewery.com) in Frederick, MD is owned/run by the folks at Flying Dog which is vegan-friendly. I got confirmation from Ben Savage, VP of Marketing, that Wild Goose is also "100% vegan across the board."

Company Email: Oct 2007
"We do not use any animal products in the production of our beer. We also have a vegan working as a brewer here at Flying Dog and our bottling line manager is a vegetarian."

Company email: Sept 2007
I am happy to tell you that all of our beer is vegan-friendly. We even employ a vegan brewer.
