Company email (February 2018)
"Our Merlyn Cream Liqueur contains cream and so is therefore not suitable for vegans. For the rest of our whiskies, gins and vodka, although we don't directly use any animal products within our processes or add them to our finished products, we do work with third party suppliers of casks, etc who have their own processes and so we cannot guarantee that our products are suitable for vegetarians or vegans." [note: while this looks like a "may contain" scenario, we're going with the company's wishes and marking them as red]

Company email (October 2012):
"You e-mailed us a few weeks ago to enquire as to whether our whisky is vegan-friendly. I’m now getting in contact again to inform you that, despite early reassurances that our products were vegan, further investigation suggests we cannot be 100% sure on this matter. We are unable to verify this fully and we therefore have to update our advice and we cannot say that our products are suitable for vegans.
Please accept my sincere apologies"

Company email (September 2012):
"I’d like to confirm that Penderyn whiskies are vegan-friendly. Our whiskies are produced at one site here in Penderyn, and so the production processes for Penderyn whiskies are also vegan-friendly."

Company email (May 2012):
"1 - Penderyn whiskies contain NO animal ingredients at all and NO animal ingredients (such as isinglass or gelatine) are used in its manufacture. Filtration of the whisky before bottling is through paper sheets and crushed mineral rock.
2 - Our whiskies are only produced at one site here in Penderyn and no other locations around the world, therefore all production processes are consistent with the statement in point 1 above."
