"Over the years we have on occasion used milk casein and/or egg albumin to fine some of our wines in order to remove bitterness or excess tannin. This is not required for every wine or every lot however. While I do not believe any animal ingredients were directly used in [our 2016 Syrah Reserve], they are used on occasion in our winery and will have come into contact with shared equipment and tanks."
