Narcisi Winery is vegan friendly

"Instead of egg whites(used mostly for a do-it-at-home kind of winemaking) or Isinglass (a collagen extracted from fish bladders), for the clarification and fining of our wine we use Bentonite, a food grade(and completely harmless) volcanic clay. "The negative ions in the Bentonite clay bond with positively charged particles floating around in the wine causing haziness. Eventually, because of the density, these bond particles precipitate to the bottom of the tank. "Even though no Bentonite is present in the wine at the end of this process a final sterile filtration is performed before the wine is bottled."
