Blue Nun Wines has some vegan options

Company email (July 2020) "If that is the case I can assure you that no so called 'animal by products' are used in our winemaking process , actually not at all in our winery since many years...I have made reference to our kosher wines as we can guarantee this 100%, because these wines are produced by our oenolgists under Rabbi supervision from grape picking in the vinyard until bottling on our line 100 % in our hand. For the non – kosher wines again there are no animal by products being used in our winery – we do not have them anymore. But we do in the course of the year -when necessary- buy suitable wines from other vintners or wineries. And in these cases we can not guarantee that in the filtration process of the grape must no 'animal by products' have been used, as we buy the finished wine... but we can not 100 % guarantee that in some cases they may have been used by the vintners." Company email (circa 2008) We do try to avoid the animal by-products as much as possible, yet we cannot guarantee that to a very minimal extend such products are being used in preparing the wines for Blue Nun. We do work with a number of contracted vintners and at the present moment, not all of them are technically able to avoid the usage of these products in the filtration process of the white wine. It will remain our aim to be able to renounce usage in the future, but presently it is not 100% achieved yet.
