Single bottling plant in Scotland" Carmen notes (January 2018) re Chateau Libertas "I had a telephonic conversation regarding this wine, so cannot forward you the response, but due to the fact they use porcine, their wine is NOT vegan." Company email (May 2017) re: Pongrácz "Pongracz is made by using as little as possible fining/processing agents. We don’t use animal products and try to select only plant based products. However the wine is made and blended in a winery that might use animal based products on other wines, and can thus not give a 100% vegan certification." Company email (August 2011): "With reference to your enquiry below we forwarded it to a number of our Cellar Masters and they replied to say that unfortunately we do not have any vegan friendly wines due to the fact that Gelatine and egg albumin are used as fining agents. All of Distell’s wine products are manufactured in South Africa."
