Company email (February 2022) re: Faith in Custard
"Faith in Custard' is vegan! Most of our beers are vegan unless stated otherwise in the allergens section of the label."

Company email (February 2021)
"We do not use any animal products during the brewing process, but we do sometimes add ingredients such as lactose to some of our beers. Most of our core range beers are labelled vegan apart from Northern Star."

Company email (March 2019)
"That’s right, [our cask beers are] vegan! We don’t use any Isinglass. The only Northern Monk beers that aren’t vegan are the ones that contain lactose."

Nial Notes (March 2018)
"I bumped into Northern Monk head brewer Brian Dickson in a local pub which was serving Northern Monk beers on keg and cask. I asked him if they used isinglass in their casks and he said no, never. Only their beers with lactose in are not vegan, so casks are generally vegan."

Mick notes (March 2016) that Northern Star contains lactose (milk sugar,) as confirmed on http://www.northernmonkbrewco.com/beer/northern-startm

Company email (May 2015):
"All Northern Monk keg beers are unfined and therefore suitable for vegans. We don’t bottle presently although we do regular collaborations which may be subject to finings – but our core range does not use finings on keg (see this link to our website for core range - http://www.northernmonkbrewco.com/beer)

I’m afraid our cask beers do use isinglass for clarity, although we can make them unfined to order if this is required. "
