Company email (February 2013):
"[Does Red Racer contain any animal ingredients (such as milk, eggs, honey, etc)] No.
[or are animal products used in the processing/filtration of the product (such as isinglass, gelatin, etc)?] Most of our packaged beer styles (Lager, Pale Ale, India Pale Ale, Extra Special Bitter) are filtered and no animal derived fining agents are employed. The exceptions are our Stout (which is fined with an isinglass product), and our White Ale (which is both unfiltered and unfined). Some of the "seasonal" beers available only on draught at our own brewpub, and in select pubs are also fined (isinglass) e.g. Thor's Hammer Barleywine.

[Also, is your product manufactured anywhere else in the world (by a sub-licensee, for instance) that might use a different processing system?] No."

Company email (February 2013):
"The majority of our beer brands (Pale Ale, Lager, IPA, ESB, Winter Ale) are filtered and as such are not clarified using a fining agent. However, a number of our beers are fined using an isinglass product. These are typically small batches made just for the pub and currently include our Stout, and Raspberry Wheat Ale, and any of our "seasonal" offerings - presently this includes a couple interpretations of the barleywine style, and our Imperial IPA. Our White Ale is neither fined or filtered. All our casks are clarified using finings. We do not use lactose in any of our current styles.

So in summary, I can confirm that our draft or canned Pale Ale, Lager, IPA, ESB, Winter Ale, and White Ale could all be considered "vegan friendly"."

Company email (November 2011):
"Any Red Racer packaged beer that you get from retail stores have no animal products in them such as isinglass or gelatin. The only place where we sometimes use isinglass is from our serving tanks in our pub only. All beer in cans has been filtered, with the exception of our white ale, which is an unfiltered product."
